Whiskey for the Lady

Whiskey for the Lady is a progressive “thrashgrass” string band from Kansas City. Fronted by singer, songwriter, and mandolinist Phil Craven, this four-piece ensemble delivers a fast-paced, genre-bending sound woven together with precision and raw energy.

Formed in 2012, the band features Mallory Edson (Dimension Bill Edwards, Truck Bed Taxi) on fiddle and vocals, Frank Bower (Surrogate Sons) on guitar and vocals, and Zach Bozeman (Moonshroom) on bass and general mischief. Former members include Ike Goletz on percussion, and the late Ricky Deal and Brad “Animal” Price on banjo and upright bass.

Whiskey for the Lady is a melting pot of eclectic styles and wildly contrasting personalities — a mix that fuels their distinctive sound and universal appeal. Their music bridges the gap between young punk rockers and old-time bluegrass fans alike. Whether lighting up a festival stage or jamming on a front porch, Whiskey for the Lady brings a high-energy show that never disappoints.
